In this article, the modified extended direct algebraic method is applied for the perturbed highly dispersive nonlinear Schr & ouml;dinger equation with conformable fractional derivative and sextic-power law refractive index. Various types of solutions are extracted such as bright solitons, dark solitons, combo bright-dark solitons, singular solitons, singular periodic wave solutions, exponential wave solutions and rational solutions. The impact of the fractional derivative is illustrated graphically using examples of some of the retrieved solutions with various values of fractional order.
