Özet
The main purpose of this study is to determine the effect of the effectiveness of the transformationallearning model on the critical thinking tendency and on the meta-cognitive awareness of the students in the 6thgrade science course. The study group of this research was selected as a Secondary School, which is a publicschool in the district of Güngören in Istanbul. The California Critical Thinking Disposition Inventory (CCTDI),the Cognitive Awareness Scale, the semi-structured interview form and student diaries are the data collectiontools of the research using the dominant-less dominant mixed method. In the study, parametric tests were used toanalyze data for which the distribution was normal; descriptive and content analysis methods were used in theanalysis of the data obtained in the semi-structured interview form, and citations were also made through thedocument review. As a result of research It has been seen that the activities of transformational learning modelhave given students the habit of conducting research from different sources.
