dc.description.abstract | This study aims to develop a measurement tool to determine the level of sensitivity to natural environment for students in secondary schools. Working group of the study is composed of 422 students, 191 (45%) females and 231 (55%) males, who study in various secondary schools in the Siirt city center in 2012-2013 schooling year. Data are gathered by literature survey and 17- item 'Scale for motivation towards geography' created after a content analysis of compositions on 'sensitivity to natural environment' written by 10 students studying in the last grade, and developed in accordance with experts opinion. An exploratory factor analysis was conducted on the data collected. 15 items with construct validity were included in the last form of the scale. It was identified that the scale was grouped under 3 factors, namely Awareness, Thought, and Behaviour. The Cronbach alpha coefficient of internal consistency was calculated with the final version. | |
