A general view on mathematical models of language competition and bilingualism, in which ordinary and fractional differential equations were used, is given. Equilibria and stability are investigated for models of fractional differential systems with two components and three components. Also applications of the fractional case is given in the sense of numerical simulation. © Balkan Society of Geometers, Geometry Balkan Press 2017.
