| dc.description.abstract | The main purpose of this study is to examine the role of energy in the regional development process in the context of electricity demand in Duhok Case. Electricity demand has played an essential role in both the economic growth and economic development processes of developing countries. Electricity demand worldwide has experienced significant changes over time, and it has also affected regional development processes. Particularly in the stable political environment that emerged as a result of regime change in Iraq, the economic development process has led to a significant change in electricity demand. As a result of this change, power outages are a principal problem the crisis of energy in the form of electricity demand in Duhok. In this respect, this study examines the electricity demand between 1995-2003 and 2003-2017, which is essential to explain the change in electricity demand in Duhok and attempts to explain the role of this demand in the economic growth process. | en_US |
