Abstract
Nüfusun büyük çoğunluğunu oluşturan kentlerde, sanayileşmenin etkisiyle yoğunlaşma ve hareketlilik meydana gelmiştir. Bu hareketliğin sebep olduğu kentleşme toplumsal ve mekânsal bozukluklara sebep olmuş ve dönüşüm ihtiyacını beraberinde getirmiştir. Bu ihtiyaç doğrultusunda kentsel dönüşüm projeleri meydana gelmiş, soylulaştırılma ile sonuçlanmıştır. Tez çalışmasında Siirt ilinin ilk yerleşim yerlerinden olan Karakol Mahallesinin eski ve yeni hali karşılaştırılarak incelenmiş olup mahallede anket çalışması yapılmıştır. Kentleşme süreciyle mahalledeki binaların kente ayak uyduramayarak gün geçtikçe değerini kaybetmeye başladığı gözlemlenmektedir.Bu doğrultuda, bu tezde kentleşme süreci içerisinde değer kaybetmiş alanlardaki sorunların araştırılması ele alınmıştır. In cities, which constitute the majority of the population, concentration and mobility have occurred with the effect of industrialization. The urbanization caused by this mobility caused social and spatial disorders and brought the need for transformation. In line with this need, urban transformation projects have occurred and resulted in gentrification. In the thesis study, the old and new state of Karakol Neighborhood, which is one of the first settlements in Siirt, was compared and examined and a survey was conducted in the neighborhood. It is observed that the buildings in the neighborhood cannot keep up with the city and begin to lose their value day by day with the urbanization process.
