Ortaokul 8.sınıf öğrencilerinin konuşma becerilerinin çeşitli değişkenler açısından incelenmesi

Özet
Konuşma hayatın her alanında çok büyük bir paya sahiptir. Bireyin kendini ifade etmesinin yollarından biridir. Konuşma yeteneği sayesinde birey başkalarıyla iletişime geçebilmekte ve kendini ifade edebilmektedir. Yapılan bu araştırmada, ortaokul 8.sınıf öğrencilerinin konuşma becerilerinin farklı değişkenler açısından incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçla araştırmanın temelini oluşturan problem ve alt problemlere dayalı olarak nicel araştırma yöntemi benimsenerek gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu araştırmada nicel araştırma yöntemi çerçevesinde kullanılan araştırma desenlerinden tarama araştırması kullanılmıştır. Verilerin toplanmasında 33 madde ve 5 alt boyuttan oluşan Ortaokul Öğrencileri İçin Konuşma Kaygısı Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Araştırma, Siirt ilinde öğrenim gören ve ortaokul 8.sınıfa giden 810 öğrenciye ulaşılıp elde edilen verilere dayanmaktadır. Verilerin analiz edilmesinde ise öğrencilere ait kişisel bilgilerin analizinde yüzde (%) ve frekans (f) değerleri kullanılmıştır. Araştırma kapsamında şu alt problemlere ulaşılmıştır. Bunlar öğrencilerin konuşma becerilerinin; cinsiyet değişkenine, evlerinde kütüphane olup olmama durumlarına, okudukları kitap sayısına ve ailenin ekonomik durumuna göre konuşma becerisi ve kaygıları arasında bir farklılık var mıdır? sorularına yanıt aranmaya çalışılmıştır. Çalışma bulguları neticesinde öğrencilerin konuşma becerileri ile cinsiyetleri, evlerinde kütüphane olma durumları ve kitap okuma sayısı durumlarına göre anlamlı bir fark bulunurken ailenin ekonomik durumuna yönelik bir farklılaşma tespit edilmemiştir. Araştırma sonuçlarından yola çıkılarak ileriye dönük yapılacak olan araştırmalar ve araştırmacılar için önerilerde bulunulmuştur.
Speaking covers a huge area in every aspect of life. It is one of the ways for the individual to express himself. Thanks to the ability to speak, the individual can communicate with others and express himself. In this study, it was aimed to examine the speaking skills of 8th grade middle school students in terms of different variables. For this purpose, a quantitative research method was adopted based on the problems and sub-problems that form the basis of the study. Survey research, one of the research designs used within the framework of the quantitative research method, was used. The Speech Anxiety Scale for Secondary school students, consisting of 33 items and 5 sub-dimensions, was used in the data collection. The research was based on the data obtained by reaching 810 students 8th grade secondary school students in the province of Siirt. In data analysis, percentage (%) and frequency (f) values were used in the analysis of the personal information of the students. Answers to following sub-problems were sought: "Is there a difference between speaking skills and anxiety according to gender variable, whether they have a library at home, the number of books they read, and the family's economic status?" As a result of the findings, a significant difference was found according to the students' speaking skills and their gender, the status of having a library at home and the number of books read, while no differentiation was found for the economic status of the family. Based on the results of research, suggestions have been made for prospective studies and researchers.
