Since the beginning of history, sanctity is attributed to the institution of "family", which is accepted as the smallest institution that constitutes the society. The sacred mission imposed on the family ensures the implementation of certain procedures, celebrations, ceramonies and rituals during the establishment of this institution. These practices, which are expressed as "wedding traditions", are carried out with great concern and care by all societies. In the marriages made by the members of the dynasty in the Great Seljuks and in the marriages t.hat took place both in the dynasty and the society in the Turkish Seljuks, the wedding traditions, each of which was applied with different care and meticulousness, under the name of engagement, marriage, dowry, hair, bridal procession, wedding, face dress, nuptials are seen as a continuation of Turkish wedding traditions. Along with these listed traditions, after the adoption of Islam, the "mehir" method in Islamic law was also applied with great sensitivity by the Seljuks. With the changing religious belief, Despite the changing geography and lifestyle over time, the fact that these methods have preserved their place in the wedding traditions of the Great Seljucks and Turkey Seljucks and even reached the present day indicates the loyalty of the Turkish society to the traditions.
