| dc.description.abstract | Son yıllarda kentlerde yaşanan trafik sorunları ve ulaşımda çevreci yaklaşımlar ile sürdürülebilir ulaşım sistemlerinin gereksinimi ortaya çıkmaya başlamıştır. Günümüzdeki sorunların artarak devam etmesi gelecek kuşakların yaşam kalitesini düşüreceği ve ilerde yaşanacak problemlerin çok daha büyük soruların habercisi olduğu farkına varılmıştır. Bu nedenle daha çevreci ve sürdürülebilir bir ulaşım sistemi ihtiyacı ortaya çıkmıştır. Dünyada birçok kentte ulaşım sisteminin bir parçası haline gelen bisiklet ve bisiklet kullanımını arttırmaya yönelik ortaya konulan çalışmalar motorsuz bir ulaşım sistemini teşvik etmeye başlamıştır. Dünyada birçok hükümet, yerel yönetim ve sivil toplum kuruluşları bu yönde çalışmalar yapmaktadır. Ülkemizde de son yıllarda bisiklet kullanımı ve buna yönelik çalışmalar ortaya çıkmaya başlamıştır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, sürdürülebilir ulaşımın bir parçası olan bisikletin ve bisiklet yollarının Midyat ilçe merkezinde değerlendirilmesidir. Kentte yaşayan bisiklet kullanıcılarının ihtiyaçları, kentin fiziksel özellikleri ve toplumun yapısı değerlendirilerek ele alınarak; mevcutta yapılmış olan bisiklet yolları ve sorunlarının çözülmesi, sürdürülebilirliğin sağlanması için tamamlayıcı nitelikte yeni güzergah tasarımları ve bisikletin kullanımını arttırmaya yönelik diğer bileşenlerin belirlenmesi ile bisiklet kullanımının kent içinde arttırılması hedeflenmiştir. | dc.description.abstract | In recent years, with the traffic problems in cities and environmentalist approaches in transportation, the need for sustainable transportation systems has started to emerge. It has been realized that the increasing problems of today will reduce the quality of life of future generations and that the problems to be experienced in the future are the harbinger of much bigger questions. Therefore, the need for a more environmentally friendly and sustainable transportation system has arisen. Efforts to increase the use of bicycles and bicycles, which have become a part of the transportation system in many cities around the world, have started to encourage a non-motorized transportation system. Many governments, local administrations and non-governmental organizations around the world are working in this direction. In our country, the use of bicycles and studies on this have started to emerge in recent years. The aim of this study is to evaluate bicycles and bicycle paths, which are a part of sustainable transportation, in Midyat district center. The needs of bicycle users living in the city are addressed by considering the physical characteristics of the city and the structure of the society; It is aimed to increase the use of bicycles in the city by solving the existing bicycle paths and problems, new route designs that are complementary to ensure sustainability and determination of other components to increase the use of bicycles.
