This study was carried out in the 2022-2023 winter vegetation period to determine the forage yield and quality characteristics of some common vetch (Vicia sativa L.) varieties in Batman ecological conditions. In the research, as plant material; Zemheri-08, Alınoğlu-2001, Ankara Moru-08, Farukbey2001, Ayaz-08, Alper and Görkem common vetch (V. sativa) varieties were used. In the research, the field experiment was set up according to the randomized block trial design with 4 replications. In the study, plant traits such as natural plant height, main stem length, main stem number, main stem thickness, green forage yield, hay yield as well as forage quality traits such as crude protein (CP) ratio, CP yield, acid detergent insoluble fiber (ADF) ratio, neutral detergent insoluble fiber (NDF) ratio and relative feed value (RFV) were investigated. As a result of the research, significant differences were found among the varieties in terms of all the traits examined, except ADF ratio. As a result of the research, according to varieties; natural plant height 34,4-47,9 cm, main stem length 43,5-63,5 cm, number of main stems 2,0- 2,6 number/plant, main stem thickness 2,33-2,69 mm, green forage yield 1443,8-2691,3 kg/da, hay yield 257,2-526,1 kg/da, CP ratio varied between 21,26-24,32%, CP yield 62,54-118,72 kg/da, ADF ratio 29,31-31,11%, NDF ratio 32,13-36,15% and RFV 167,9-191,6. According to the one-year results obtained from the research; under the climate and soil conditions of Batman province, it may be recommended to use Ankara Moru-08 variety for forage production in common vetch cultivation as a winter intermediate crop. Keywords: Crude protein ratio, crude protein yield, hay yield, relative feed value, Vicia sativa
