On the basis of the spectral studies, four-coordinated tetrahedral geometry may be assigned to these complexes.Öğe Synthesis and spectral studies of macrocyclic Cu(II), Ni(II) and Co(II) complexes by template reaction of 1,4-bis(3-aminopropoxy)butane with metal(II) nitrate and salicylaldehyde derivatives(Elsevier, 2008) Ilhan, Salih; Temel, HamdiSix new macrocyclic complexes were synthesized by template reaction of salicylaldehyde derivatives with 1,4-bis(3-aminopropoxy)butane and metal(II) nitrate. The metal to ligand ratio of the complexes was found to be 1:1. The Cu(II) complexes are proposed to be square planar and the Ni(II) and Co(II) complexes are proposed to be tetrahedral geometry. Macrocyclic complexes are 1:2 electrolytes as shown by their molar conductivities (Am) in DMF (dimethylformamide) of 10(-3) M solution. The structure of metal complexes is proposed from elemental analysis, FIR, UV-vis, magnetic Susceptibility measurements, molar conductivity measurements and mass spectra. (c) 2008 Elsevier B.V. Due to the existence of free ions in these complexes, such complexes are electrically conductive. The configurations of Cd(II) and Zn(II) complexes were proposed to probably tetrahedral, La(III) complexes are octahedral and Pb(II) complexes are octahedral geometry in the L-1 complex and tetrahedral geometry in the L-2 complex.Öğe Synthesis and spectral studies of macrocyclic Pb(II), Zn(II), Cd(II) and La(III) complexes derived from 1,4-bis(3-aminopropoxy)butane with metal nitrate and salicylaldehyde derivatives(Elsevier Science Inc, 2009) Ilan, Salih; Temel, Hamdi; Pasa, SalihEight new macrocyclic complexes were synthesized by template reaction of 1,4-bis(3-aminopropoxy)butane with metal nitrate and 1,3-bis(2-formylphenyl)propane or 1,4-bis(2-formylphenyl)butane and their structures were proposed on the basis of elemental analysis, FTIR, UV-vis, molar conductivity measurements, H-1 NMR and mass spectra. The metals to ligand molar ratios of the complexes were found to be 1:1. The complexes are 1:2 electrolytes for Pb(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II) complexes and 1:3 electrolytes for La(III) as shown by their molar conductivities (Lambda(m)) in DMSO at 10(-3) mol L-1. Due to the existence of free ions in these complexes, such complexes are electrically conductive. The configurations of La(III) and Pb(II) were proposed to probably octahedral and Zn(II) and Cd(II) complexes were proposed to probably tetrahedral. (C) 2008 Salih Ilhan. The ligand and its metal complexes have been characterised by elemental analysis, IR, H-1 and C-13 NMR, UV-Vis spectra, magnetic susceptibility, conductivity measurements and mass spectra. All complexes are diamagnetic and the Cu(II) complex is binuclear.Öğe Synthesis, characterization and electro-spectroelectrochemical studies of four macrocyclic Schiff-base Co(II) complexes having N2O2 set of donor atoms(Springer, 2009) Yilmaz, Ismail; Ilhan, Salih; Temel, Hamdi; Kilic, AhmetFour macrocyclic Schiff-base cobalt complexes, [CoL1][NO3](2) center dot A 3H(2)O, [CoL2][NO3](2) center dot A 4H(2)O, [CoL3][NO3](2) center dot A 4H(2)O and [CoL4][NO3](2) center dot A 2H(2)O, were synthesized by reaction of salicylaldehyde derivatives with 1,4-bis(3-aminopropoxy)butane or (+/-)-trans-1,2-diaminocyclohexane and Co(NO3)(2) center dot A 6H(2)O by template effect in methanol. The metals to ligand ratio of the complexes were found to be 1:1. The Co(II) complexes are proposed to be tetrahedral geometry. The macrocyclic Co(II) complexes are 1:2 electrolytes as shown by their molar conductivities (I >(M)) in DMF (dimethyl formamide) at 10(-3) M. The structure of Co(II) complexes is proposed from elemental analysis, Ft-IR, UV-visible spectra, magnetic susceptibility, molar conductivity measurements and mass spectra. Electrochemical and thin-layer spectroelectrochemical studies of the complexes were comparatively studied in the same experimental conditions. The electrochemical results revealed that all complexes displayed irreversible one reduction processes and their cathodic peak potential values (E (pc)) were observed in around of -1.14 to 0.95 V. It was also seen that [CoL1][NO3](2) center dot A 3H(2)O and [CoL2][NO3](2) center dot A 4H(2)O exhibited one cathodic wave without corresponding anodic wave but, [CoL3][NO3](2) center dot A 4H(2)O and [CoL4][NO3](2) center dot A 2H(2)O showed one cathodic wave with corresponding anodic wave, probably due to the presence of different ligand nature even if the complexes have the same N2O2 donor set. In view of spectroelectrochemical studies [CoL3][NO3](2) center dot A 4H(2)O showed distinctive spectral changes in which the intensity of the band (lambda A = at 316 nm, assigned to n -> pi* transitions) decreased and a new broad band in a low intensity about 391 nm appeared as a result of the reduction process based on the cobalt center in the complex.Öğe Synthesis, structural characterization of new macrocyclic schiff base derived from 1, 6-bis (2-formylphenyl) hexane and 2, 6-diaminopyridine and its metal complexes(CSIR, 2008) İlhan, Salih; Temel, Hamdi; Sunkur, Murat; Tegin İbrahimA macrocyclic ligand has been synthesized by reaction of 2,6-diaminopyridine and 1,6-bis(2-formylphenyl)hexane.
