Öğe Determination of morphological and pomological characteristics of pomegranate (Punica granatum L.) genotypes grown in Diyarbakır(2019) Çiçek, Mehmet; Pakyurek, Mine; Çelik, FeritThe aim of this study was to determine the pomological and morphological characteristics of pomegranate genotypes grown in Çermik and Dicle districts of Diyarbakır province. As a result of the study carried out on 10genotypes; fruit weights were found between 198.8 and 366.0 g, seed hardness of the fruit was medium-hard ineight genotypes, hard in two genotypes, aril yield ranged from 58.1 to 70.0% and fruit juice volume was between63.9 and 135.7 ml. The upper peel color was purple in four genotypes, pink-red in two genotypes, orange-red inone genotype and orange in three genotypes. The bottom peel color is orange-red in seven genotypes and orangein three genotypes. Aril color was dark purple in three genotypes, purple in two genotypes, medium red in twogenotypes and pink-red in three genotypes. The acid content was found to be between 0.65 and 1.21% and theamount of total soluable solid (TSS) varied between 15.0 and 21.0%. It was concluded that all 10 genotypes werepromising and these genotypes showed superior characteristics.Öğe Heavy metal accumulation potential in pomegranate fruits and leaves grown in roadside orchards(Peerj Inc, 2020) Aydin, Seyma Demirhan; Pakyurek, MineThis study was carried out to determine the possible heavy metal accumulation in fruits and leaves of Zivzik pomegranate (Punica granatum L.) grown in two different roadside orchards located in Pirincli and Kapili villages of Siirt province, Turkey. Leaf and fruit samples were collected from trees located at 0, 50, 100 m distances from the main roads. Plant samples were analyzed for cobalt (Co), nickel (Ni), cadmium (Cd), lead (Pb) and chromium (Cr) concentrations. The Co, Ni, Cd, Pb and Cr concentrations of fruit samples collected from Pirincli village were ranged from 0.082 to 0.238 mg kg(-1), from 1.160 to 1.559 mg kg(-1), from 0.087 to 0.179 mg kg(-1), 0.326 to 0.449 mg k g(-1) and 0.606 to 1.054 mg kg(-1), respectively. The Co, Ni, Cd, Pb and Cr concentrations of fruit samples from Kapili village were between 0.085 and 0.137 mg kg(-1), 1.042 and 1.123 mg kg(-1), 0.037 and 0.076 mg kg(-1), 0.277 and 0.520 mg kg(-1) and 0.762 and 0.932 mg kg(-1), respectively. Heavy metal concentrations of leaf samples from Pirincli village varied from 0.191 to 0.227 mg Co kg(-1), 2.201 to 3.547 mg Ni kg(-1), 0.051 to 0.098 mg Cd kg(-1), 0.535 to 0.749 mg Pb kg(-1) and from 1.444 to 2.017 mg Cr kg(-1). Similarly, the heavy metal concentration of leaf samples from Kapili villages were between 0.213 and 0.217 mg Co kg(-1), 2.160 and 2.511 mg Ni kg(-1), 0.058 and 0.114 mg Cd kg(-1), 0.579 and 0.676 mg Pb kg(-1) and 1.688 and 1.518 mg Cr kg(-1). The Co, Ni and Cr concentrations in fruit samples collected from 0, 50 and 100 meters to the main road in Pirincli village were at statistically significant level, while only Ni concentration in leaf samples collected from 0, 50 and 100 meters to the main road was at significant level. In contrast, heavy metal concentrations in fruit and leaf samples collected from 0, 50 and 100 m to the main road in Kapth village were not statistically significant level.Öğe WATER-YIELD RELATIONSHIP OF ZIVZIK POMEGRANATE UNDER DEFICIT IRRIGATION CONDITIONS(Univ Agricultural Sciences & Veterinary Medicine Bucharest, 2017) Aydin, Yusuf; Mikail, Nazire; Pakyurek, Mine; Saltuk, Burak; Seven, MehmetThe Southeastern Anatolia Region meets approximately 10% of Turkey's pomegranate production. Siirt region pomegranate cultivation has a great importance within the region. The production of Zivzik pomegranate, a local variety of the region, was significantly increased in the last 10 years with projects and public contributions. Although there are many problems encountered in pomegranate cultivation, irregularity in irrigation programs that causes cracking in them has a significant value. In this study it was aimed to achieve the irrigation program of Zivzik pomegranate which is especially cultivated in Siirt region. The experiment was carried out in the experimental design of split plots in randomised block design with three replications, the irrigation interval was placed in the main plots, and the irrigation levels were placed in the sub-plots. Each experimental treatment was composed of 4-year-old 15 trees planted at 3x3.5 m intervals, measurements and observations were obtained from 3 trees in the middle of the block. In this study, the inline drip irrigation system was used. In the study carried out, parameters such as yield, irrigation water, plant water consumption and yield response factor were examined, and an attempt to determine the irrigation program was made. The average yield values obtained from the experiment varied between 20.5 kg/subject and 53.7 kg/subject, and no significant difference was found between the treatments as a result of the statistical analysis performed. In the subjects examined, the plant water consumption values varied between 601.5 mm and 902.9 mm, and the amount of irrigation water was determined as 292.6 mm and 585.2 mm. The yield response (Ky) showing the sensitivity of pomegranate to water deficiency was calculated as 1.59.
