Öğe Conductive Polymer-Based Nanocomposites as Powerful Sorbents: Design, Preparation and Extraction Applications(Taylor & Francis Inc, 2022) Canpolat, Gurbet; Dolak, Ibrahim; Kecili, Rustem; Hussain, Chaudhery Ghazanfar; Amiri, Amirhassan; Hussain, Chaudhery MustansarConductive polymers as composite materials have been attracted tremendous attention due to their versatile and excellent features such as tunable conductivity, facile synthesis and fabrication, high chemical and thermal stability etc. These characteristics make them versatile and let them being used in numerous fields including microelectronics, optics and biosensors. Throughout the mentioned fields, conductive polymers particularly perform as effective sorbents. Although tremendous efforts have been put into this topic, to the best of our knowledge, a comprehensive up-to-date review on the applications of conductive polymers as efficient sorbents has not been reported. The main objective of this paper is to make a significant contribution to the recent literature toward the synthesis and extraction applications of conductive polymers as efficient sorbents.Öğe Functionalized magnetic nanoparticles as powerful sorbents and stationary phases for the extraction and chromatographic applications(Elsevier Sci Ltd, 2021) Kecili, Rustem; Ghorbani-Bidkorbeh, Fatemeh; Dolak, Ibrahim; Canpolat, Gurbet; Karabork, Muharrem; Hussain, Chaudhery MustansarMaterials in nanodimensions such as magnetic nanoparticles exibit fascinating physico-chemical features (i.e. high surface area, very small size, superparamagnetism, active surface which can be successfully functionalized, low toxicity, etc). Because of these superior features, functionalized magnetic nanoparticles received increasing attention for tremendous amount of studies over the last years and a number of successful applications were published. This paper aims to present and highlight the latest progresses in the development of novel functionalized magnetic nanoparticles for the extraction and chromatographic applications. Removal of harmful pollutants from contaminated food, environmental, and biological samples is a crucial demand. Green extraction techniques have been developed as greener and more sustainable alternatives to traditional sample preparation methods. These techniques aim to improve the selectivity and sensitivity of analytical methods and simultaneously reducing the harmful side effects of conventional extraction techniques. Green nanomaterials have advanced extraction technologies due to their unique physicochemical features and facile surface functionalization. This chapter presents the synthesis of green nanomaterials and their use in analytical applications, with a special focus on their roles as sorbent materials. © 2024Öğe Sample Preparation with Conductive Polymers(American Chemical Society, 2022) Canpolat, Gurbet; Dolak, Ibrahim; Hussain, Chaudhery Ghazanfar; Keçili, Rüstem; Hussain, Chaudhery MustansarThis chapter presents and highlights the latest progress in the synthesis andapplications of conductive polymers and their nanocomposites as powerfulsorbents in different sample preparation techniques including solid-phaseextraction, solid-phase microextraction, dispersive solid-phase extraction, andmagnetic solid-phase extraction. The review covers the extraction of heavy metalsand organic analytes from various food, environmental, and biological samplessuch as water, urine, and blood. In addition, electrochemical electrodes based onCPs and their composites are also summarized. © 2022 American Chemical Society. This is fueled in part by the gradual increase of billions of smartphone users (~ 3.5 billion users in 2020) even in low-income countries. In this chapter, the latest advancements on the design, development and successful applications of smartphone-based optical (colorimetric, fluorescence, chemiluminescence etc.) and electrochemical sensor platforms was highlighted and overviewed. It starts with the sifnigifance and superior features of the smartphones in the introduction part. In the next sections, optical sensing and electrochemical sensing based on smartphone technology and various important examples from the literature are demonstrated. © 2021 Elsevier Inc.
