Sonuç olarak çalışmada depolamada meyve eti sertliğin korunmasında ve ağırlık kaybının azaltılmasında melatoninin kullanılabileceği ortaya konulmuştur.Öğe Pomological and Biochemical Characteristics of Local Pomegranate Genotypes of Kahta (Adıyaman) Region(2024) Alan, Davut; Ağlar, Erdal; Küçüker, Emine; Tekin, Onur; Akbal, RabiaIn the study carried out to determine the pomological characteristics of local pomegranate genotypes grown in Kahta district center and Bostanli, Eceler, Balli, Kilisk, Sarica, and Narince villages of Adıyaman province, one orchard belonging to a grower in each region and 1 genotype in each orchard were determined. 10 fruits in each genotype were harvested, and pomological measurements and biochemical analyses were performed. The largest fruit was obtained with the Sarıca genotype and Narince was the genotype with the smallest fruit. In genotypes, the fruit weight was between 196.300-328.909 g, the fruit length 61.528-72.801 mm, and the fruit width between 73.047-86.613 mm. Total aril weight was between 94.144-203.567 g and the fruit volume was between 188.333-327.000. The Sarıca genotype had the highest juice volume and the lowest juice ratio was recorded in the Eceler genotype. Calyx length was longer in the Sarıca genotype and the highest values in terms of calyx radius were recorded with the Kilisk genotype. The Eceler genotype had thicker shells and the Narince genotype had thinner shells. The number of chambers in the genotypes was between 5 and 6. There were significant differences between genotypes in terms of fruit skin and aril color. The soluble solids content (SSC) in genotypes was determined between 12.011-17.267, pH was 3.583-4.073 and total acidity (TA) was 0.736-1.489%. Phenolic compounds such as protocatechuic acid, rutin, gallic acid, chlorogenic acid, epicatechin, ferulic acid, floridzin, vanillic acid, hydroxycinnamic acid, catechin, caffeic acid, syringic acid, and p-coumaric acid were detected in pomegranate fruit, and rutin was phenolic compound with the highest concentration.Öğe Pre-Harvest Application of Aminoethoxyvinylglycine, Salicylic Acid and Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria on Fruit Quality of ‘Sweetheart’ Sweet Cherry(2023) Küçüker, Emine; Çelik, Kenan; Özcengiz, Ceyda Kızgın; Oğurlu, Ferhat; Ağlar, ErdalSweet cherry, which affects consumers’ preferences with its aroma, taste and sensory properties, is a significant fruit species for human health with its bioactive compounds such as organic acids, vitamins and anthocyanins. However, its post-harvest shelf life is very short due to its sensitive fruit structure. Thus, the significant economic losses occur. In the study, effects of pre-harvest Aminoethoxyvinylglycine (AVG), Salicylic acid (SA) and plant growth promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) applications on fruit quality characteristics and biochemical content in sweet cherry were determined. SA and PGPR treatments increased fruit size, but AVG decreased (If the fruit weight is 4.51 in the control application, 4.49 in the SA application and 4.10 in the PGPR, how can it be said that SA and PGPR increase the fruit weight). The fruits treated with SA, AVG and PGPR had higher fruit firmness values than the control’-fruits. Salisylic acid treatmens did not affect the rate of soluble solids content(SSC) in fruit, SSC rate was higher in PGPR treated-fruit, but AVG decreased the SSC. Titratable acidity (TA) was lower in PGPR treated-fruit, but was higher in the AVG and SA treated-fruit. Fruits treated with the SA and AVG had higher fruit color values than control fruits, while the lowest color values was obtained with PGPR treatment. In general; PGPR, SA and AVG were effective in the concentration of organic acids, but their effects varied depending on the organic acid compounds. As a result, AVG and SA delayed fruit ripening and fruit softening while PGPR, AVG and SA improved fruit quality (It is not clear how this idea was reached). These applications can be considered as a promising method for improving fruit quality at harvest and maintaining post-harvest fruit quality of sweet cherry.Öğe Şeftalide Farklı Dozlarda Putresin Uygulamasının Depolamada Meyve Kalitesi ve Biyokimyasal Bileşikler Üzerine Etkisi(2024) Küçüker, Emine; Ağlar, ErdalKlimakterik bir meyve türü olan ve hasattan sonra meyve hızlı bir şekilde bozulan şeftalide raf ömrü kısa ve hasat sonrası kayıplar yüksektir. Çalışma ile putresin uygulamasının şeftalide hasat sonu kalitenin muhafaza edilmesinde kullanılabileceği ortaya konulmuştur.Öğe The Effect of Aminoethoxyvinylglycine (AVG) on Pre-harvest Fruit Drop and Fruit Quality in Red Chief and Braeburn Apple Cultivars(2021) Küçüker, Emine; Ağlar, ErdalThe study was carried out in 2017 in the semi-dwarf apple orchard established in 2010 inKemalpaşa village in Tokat province in order to determine the effect of AVG application in differentconcentrations on the pre-harvest fruit drop and fruit quality of Red Chief and Braeburn applecultivars. In the study, 7 years-old apple trees of Red Chief and Braeburn cultivars grafted on MM106rootstock were used. AVG, at 0, 75, 150 and 225 mg L-1combined with a Regulaid’ surfactant at 0.1%v/v, was applied to the trees before anticipated harvest. Fruit drop ratio, which varied depending onthe cultivar, was lower in the AVG treated trees, and the effect of the application concentration wassignificant. AVG application was effective in maintaining the fruit retention force. The significantdifferences in fruit retention force occurred between application concentrations. It was determinedthat the the fruit retention force was higher in the fruits belonging to the Breaburn cultivar. The effectof AVG on fruit size, SSC pH and acidity rates varied depending on the variety. There was no significantdifferences in fruit firmness and starch index between cultivars. AVG application increased the fruitfirmness and decreased the amount of starch both cultivar. As a result, of this study, it has beenrevealed that AVG can be used effectively in preventing pre-harvest fruit drop in Redchief ve Braeburn.Öğe The Effect of Putrescine and Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP) Treatments on Fruit Quality Characteristics of Strawberry (Kabarla cultivar) During Cold Storage(2024) Oğurlu, Ferhat; Oğurlu, Hikmet; Özcengiz, Ceyda Kızgın; Küçüker, Emine; Ağlar, ErdalStrawberry is a fruit species that must be harvested at full ripening and at the same time has an extremely short shelf life and deteriorates rapidly. Therefore, it is important to extend the shelf life after harvest. In this study, putrescine and modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) were applied during cold storage in order to maintain the quality and extend the shelf life of strawberry fruit. The commercial ripening fruit were treated with 1 mM putrescine and stored in MAP for 20 days. The quality characteristics such as weight loss, soluble solids content, titratable acidity, fruit color, organic acid and phenolic content were measured and analyzed on days 4, 8, 12, 16 and 20 of storage. At the end of 20 days of the cold storage, the highest weight loss was in control treatment (%). The decrease in soluble solids content (SSC) and titratable acidity (TA) values during cold storage was slowed down by MAP and putrescine treatments. Organic acids and phenolic compounds were significantly affected by storage time and MAP and putrescine treatments. After 20 days of the cold storage, citric acid (748.91 mg 100 g -1) and malic acid (258.34 mg 100 g-1), which were determined as basic organic acids, were highest in putrescine treatment. Shikimic acid (0.77 mg 100 g-1) and isocitric acid (112.58 mg 100 g-1) as phenolic compounds were highest in MAP and MAP+ putrescine treatments, respectively. These results releaved that the application of putrescine and modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) during cold storage significantly extends the market life of strawberries by preserving their quality attributes.Öğe The Effect of The Different Training Systems on Yield and Vegetative Growth of“Santa Maria” and “Deveci” Pear Cultivars(2021) Küçüker, Emine; Ağlar, ErdalThe study was conducted between 2012-2014 in order to determine the effects of the training systems on \"Deveci\" and \"Santa Maria\" cultivars grafted on Quince A rootstock. The effect of the training system on the TCSA and canopy volume values of the trees was significant, but there were differences in the effect depending on the cultivar. The trees, which had a thicker trunk, were obtained with Y Palmette in Santa Maria cultivar and Vertical Axis in Deveci cultivar. The yield values changed depending on the training system and cultivar. It has been determined that the trees treated in Vertical Axis and Y Palmette training systems have a higher yield. It can be said that the Deveci cultivar had a relatively higher yield. Deveci cultivar had larger fruit, and the effect of the training system varied depending on the cultivar. In Santa Maria cultivar, the fruit of the trees on which the One Arm Cordon training system was bigger. In Deveci cultivar, the larger fruit was harvested from the trees on which One Arm Cordon and Vertical Axis training systems. As a result, the training systems have been influential in the vegetative growth and yield of the trees.
