Four new dissymmetric tetradentate salicylaldimine ligands containing a donor set of N2O2 were prepared by reaction of 1,8-naphthalene with different salicylaldehydes. Tetradentate Cu(II) and Co(II) complexes were obtained by reacting the ligands with Cu(Ac)(2)center dot H2O and Co(Ac)(2)center dot 4H(2)O in a 1:1 mole ratio. The ligands and their Cu(II) and Co(II) complexes were characterized by H-1-NMR, FT-IR, UV-Vis, elemental analysis, molar conductivity, magnetic susceptibility, X-ray powder analysis, and their morphology was studied by SEM measurements.eninfo:eu-repo/semantics/closedAccesssalicylaldimineCu(II) and Co(II) complexesspectroscopyX-ray powderSEM analysesDissymmetric tetradentate salicylaldimine Cu(II) and Co(II) complexes derived from 1,8-naphthalene and different salicylaldehydesArticle444289298Q4WOS:000313298000002Q42-s2.0-84876515409
